Ab And O Blood Type Parents

Blood type is determined by the alleles that we inherit from our parents. Two parents with a blood type can produce a child with either a or o blood types.

If both parents have type a blood then the alleles could be aa or ao thus the allele a frequency is 75 allele o frequency is 25 for both parents.

Ab and o blood type parents. Similarly bo is type b aa is type a bb is type b oo is type o and ab is type ab. Two parents with b blood type can produce a child with either b or o blood type. When one parent carries a cis ab allele the other allele can be any of o a or b and the phenotype of this parent is always ab but the children will inherit either the ab or the other allele from this parent.

One parent with a and another with b can produce a child with a b ab or o blood types. The most common by far is blood type o followed by type a type b and the least common is blood type ab. They will match both parents.

If one parent has a and another has o they can either produce a child with a or o blood types. Like eye color blood type is passed genetically from your parents. Alleles are different possible types of a particular gene in this case the gene s controlling our blood type.

Two parents with a blood type can produce a child with either a or o blood types. If both parents belong to the blood group o the child will also belong to the o blood group. Mother with ab blood type can either pass the a or b allele to the baby.

If one parent has a and another has ab they can either produce a child with a b or ab blood types. Two a blood group parents can give their child either a or o blood group. Two parents with b blood type can produce a child with either b or o blood type.

Likewise a father with o blood type can only pass o allele to the baby. One parent with a and another with b can produce a child with a b ab or o blood types. Whether your blood group is type a b ab or o is based on the blood types of your mother and father.

Alleles oa is 25 75 18 75. But two o parents for example will pretty much always have o kids. For example parents with ab and o blood types can either have children with blood type a or blood type b.

These two types are definitely different than parents blood types. It is only very rarely that they might have an ab or an o child see the links at the end for these exceptions. Believe it or not in this case having a blood type different from either parent is by far the most common result.

So allele a combined with allele o is type a. If the other parent is o phenotype oo genotype there are three possible scenarios for the blood group of children of a cis ab carrier. In most cases an o parent and an ab parent will have only a or b kids.
